Joshua co-wrote the hit film 'Top End Wedding' and the children’s book 'Aunty's Wedding' with Miranda Tapsell. The follow-up TV series 'Top End Bub' is set to premiere on Amazon Prime in 2025.
Top End Wedding premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, was distributed by Universal, and became the second-highest-grossing Australian film of 2019, also nominated for three AACTA awards, including Best Film.
Joshua starred in and co-wrote two seasons of the half-hour comedy series ‘Plonk’ (Stan). He has also written for several animated series like 100% Wolf and Tashi.

Lauren and Ned are living their best life in the city, when they unexpectedly become guardians to their 8-year-old niece, and must leave their city life behind for the tropical Top End.
Co-created by Miranda Tapsell and South Australian creative Joshua Tyler, this new eight-part series sees Tapsell (Love Child, The Sapphires, The Artful Dodger) and Gwilym Lee (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Great) return to reprise their roles as Lauren and Ned from the 2019 box office hit film.
Also returning are Ursula Yovich and Huw Higginson as Daffy and Trevor, Lauren’s parents; Shari Sebbens as Ronelle; SA actor Elaine Crombie as Dana; and Tracy Mann as Annie, Ned’s mum. Joining the cast is Rob Collins, Brooke Satchwell, Guy Simon, Clarence Ryan, and making her acting debut as Taya aka ‘Bub’, is Gladys-May Kelly.
